Thanks for being part of MAGFest 2024! We are excited as this event is the collective work of more than 200 individuals since 2018. MAGFest is the origins of VR Zone and proud to make it our flagship VR Zone event.

We dedicated MAGFest VR Zone to our fallen VR staffer and friend Chris Hopkins. May his memory live on virtually in our hearts indefinitely.

We curate our games list, advise new users and walk through each play session with a helping hand. We operate as a first come first serve model. Book your game session at the check in desk.

We will invite the best SPT players from throughout the weekend to compete in a head to head VR showcase to see if anyone can beat the top score from the weekend. Join in and see if you can beat the best.

Tournament Info

Rules and regulations on our various tournaments. General Terms:

  • All tournaments are free to enter. Competitors must complete both the VR Zone waiver and the tournament form.
  • Check-ins begin at the listed event start time and continue for 10 minutes. Competitors must be in the VR Zone to check in. Competitors not present 10 minutes after the start will forfeit their spot in the event.
  • Tournament conditions are subject to change at the discretion of tournament managers. All competitors must adhere to the VR ZONE code of conduct. By participating in this tournament, you agree to video recording and use of the footage in promotional materials.

Walkabout Minigolf Tournament

  • The Walkabout Mini Golf Tournament is a score-based event. Players will compete in pairs across multiple rounds of play, with each round eliminating more players.
    • Round 1: Tourist Trap, top 9. Players with scores below the median (rounded down) will be eliminated.
    • Round 2: Tourist Trap, Back 9. Top 2 highest scores advance.
    • Round 3: Final players will play on the new course, based on the French novel Around the World in 80 Days! Player with the highest score wins.
      • In case of a tie, remaining players will play through the hard mode of the course, starting with front 9 and if needed, continuing to back 9.

Pistol Whip Tournament

  • The Pistol Whip Showdown is a score-based event. Players will compete in groups across multiple rounds of play, with each round eliminating more players.
    • Round 1: Players with scores below the median (rounded down) in their group will be eliminated.
    • Round 2: Top score from each group advances.
    • Round 3: Final showdown between our top 2 players!

Davigo VR Tournament

  • The Davigo King of the Hill Tournament is a live, timed event. The Virtual Reality player (Giant) aims to kill as many controller players (Knights) within a set timeframe.
    • Game mode is Brawl on Lighthouse, with the giant given a full shield and all knights set to 10 health.
      • Knights forfeit their controller to the next player in line upon dying, and may rejoin the line if desired. After 5 minutes, the total number of knights killed will be that giant’s score!
      • Each competitor gets a chance to play as giant. The giant with the most kills at the end of the event wins!

Blaston VR Tournament

  • The Blaston MagFest Cup 2024 is a knockout Blaston tournament. Competitors play best of 3 matches, with only winners progressing to the next round. The winning player gets a chance to beat Dr. Oolong and win 50$!
    • Players will use the following loadout:
      • Raptor
      • Luma
      • Viper
      • Hammer
      • Wildcat
      • Nova

Synthriders Tournament

  • The Synth Tournament is a score-based event. Players will compete in groups across multiple rounds of play, with each round eliminating more players.
    • Round 1: Players with scores below the median (rounded down) in their group will be eliminated.
    • Round 2: Top score from each group advances.
    • Round 3: Final showdown between our top 2 players!

Gods of Gravity Tournament

CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SIGNUP

  • The Gods of Gravity 1v1 is a team-based knockout bracket. Competitors play best of 3 matches, with only winners progressing to the next round.
  • Teammates will be assigned randomly if players do not have one.

HyperDash Zombie Tournament

CANCELLED DUE TO LACK OF SIGNUP

  • The HyperDash VR Tournament is a team-based 2v2 knockout bracket with a twist!
    • Each round, the winning team chooses one player from the losing team to join their roster.
    • This leads to a 4v4 grand finals!

Broken Edge Tournament

  • The Broken Edge First Blade Tournament is a knockout bracket where players can only use the game’s new First Blades.
  • Competitors play the best of 3 games to advance.

Space Pirate Trainer Leaderboard

  • The Space Pirate Trainer Leaderboard is a weekend long top score cumulative leaderboard of players in the Freeplay areas to play and win.
  • Competitors play in Solo Play > Arcade mode > Wave 1 start
    • SCORED MUST BE VERIFIED BY VR TECH
      • If a competitor beats a score, player must stop, raise their hand and wait for a VR Tech from VR Zone staff to attend and visually inspect and verify the score to be recorded.
    • Top 3 scores will be recorded, displayed and updated on this page.
    • Top Score players name, phone and score will be recorded.
      • Mobile number will only be used to contact top score holders for Sunday Leaderboard invites.
